EPs are the way forward!

Long story short: I don't think releasing an album right now is the best thing for me to do. Even if me and Jim get the rest of the tracks totally nailed, I think it would end up as a fairly random collection of songs rather than a coherant album.

Instead, I want to use the tracks we have to make a number of EPs where all the songs fit together properly. And we could release the first one really soon.

Here's what I reckon I plan to do next:

1. Sort the album tracks into lists of songs that make sense together (I'm aiming for at least 4 songs on each EP)

2. Pick whichever list has the most songs on it that are finished

3. Finish recording & mixing those songs

4. Get the EP mastered

5. Release the EP through a digital distributor (to get it on iTunes, Spotify, 7digital etc) Woop!

Featured on Bebo!

I've recently been chosen to be featured on Bebo! I've recorded two of my new tracks - In His Words and You (Parts 1 & 2) - for a Bebo exclusive. You can check them out on my Bebo bands profile.

In unrelated news, tomorrow I'm going to Cyprus for a week! I'm half Greek-Cypriot, which from my past experience leads me to conclude that any holiday there will be mostly spent seeing random relatives and stuff. While I know very few words in Greek, only the most basic please and thankyous plus a few choice swearwords, I most definitely know how to eat Greek food, and those mad extended family types seem duty-bound to provide masses of it when they have guests! I've heard it's been a bit cold there the last few weeks, but apparently the Cypriot definition of "a bit cold" is still significantly hotter than any Scottish summer. So I'll be back soon, hopefully full up and tanned! Rob

Gig at Hamilton's Bar, Edinburgh

Place: Hamilton's Bar & Kitchen 16-18 Hamilton Place Stockbridge Edinburgh EH3 5AU

Date: Sunday 25 Feb 2007

Time: 5.00pm

An Unplugged Session at Hamilton's Bar and Kitchen: I'm playing first for about half an hour - then Underbelly are playing - a wicked band that I saw last year. They aren't a big fan of covers at this place which is great news for me! Should be a good gig all round!

Built in a day? Not Rome, not my website.

So far I've got a few basic pages: a vaguely aligned gallery, a shop that doesn't sell anything, etc... But this is progress. It's a step in the right direction, like (insert relevant simile here). An interesting sidenote: somehow I managed to spell relevant wrong just now, and the computer suggested that "lavender" might be the correct spelling. Sometimes Firefox is an idiot. Anyway, since the new site's currently as useful as (insert another, more offensively-worded, simile here), any interested people might instead want to watch this video:
